A modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's spicy "Romeo and Juliet", this Hindi drama revolves around a young man from a small town who is torn between his family's expectations of him and his own desire for self-expression. This movie, with its epic battle of cultures, languages, and egos, explores the thin line between love and duty. Though he falls deeply in love with a girl from the wrong side of town, Rahul must keep their relationship a secret from his parents who will never approve their union. It also explores the conflict of love against tradition and the intense feeling of belonging to a family while at the same time having the freedom to make choices for one's self. The male protagonist, Rahul, is an engineering student in Mumbai. He is love-struck by Raya (Mouni Roy), who was raised in Mumbai like him. Raya's father (Boman Irani) is an Architech, and her mother (Sarika) works in some fancy office; Raya has done well enough to study interior design at local college while Rahul struggles with his studies. His family consists of his mother (Kulbushan Kharbanda), grandfather (Babul Supriyo), and younger brother. Rahul wants to, as his father puts it, become a "good bu**ler". However, he insists on taking care of tasks at home. His mother often complains that he avoids any responsibilities. He also refuses to talk with his grandfather about his passion for music and filmmaking. Rahul eventually tells his mother that Raya is a classmate whom he met during a railway trip and that he will hang out with her the next day at aunt's house where they have been going for dinner for ages. At home, Rahul's grandfather reveals the truth about Rahul's passion for music and filmmaking. Rahul tells them that Raya has agreed to meet him at aunt's house after dinner the next day. Rahul leaves for Mumbai to meet Raya. At Mumbai, Rahul and his friends make a plan to surprise Raya and join her at the cafe where she works as a waitress. Rahul and his friends go to cafe where she works, but only come to know that she quit her job there. The waiter informs them that she has shifted her job at some other place. Everybody except Rahul is fed-up with the hunt and decide to leave Sonia (Suhana Khan) tells Rahul that he can accompany her inside the cab as she is going in same direction as Raya's new workplace. At night, Rahul and Sonia find Raya at a restaurant where she is working under the name "Riya". Rahul meets her and tries to gain her trust. He then takes her home. Meanwhile, Rahul's mother calls him (he has left his phone at home) and informs him that she had promised Raya's mother to drop her at the airport the next day. Rahul tells Raya that he loves her, but she is reluctant to talk about love. However, when he leaves, she gives him a message saying that he should have told her that he loved her much earlier because that way it would not have been so difficult for them to be together. cfa1e77820
